Known as the Turbografx-16 in North America, this retro console was called the CoreGrafx in Europe and the PC Engine in Japan. Each iteration had a totally different form factor and color design, which are reflected in these controllers as well.
Despite the logistical issues, early reviews for the TurboGrafx-16 Mini have largely been positive. This is a more curious library of games, but the units come with the Japanese PC Engine games as well, so you can access classics like Snatcher and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Other familiar IP here include Bonk, Bomberman and even Ys, but it’s more likely the TurboGrafx-16 Mini has more of a discovery factor than say, the more predictable Nintendo mini consoles.
The 8BitDo Turbografx-16 wireless controllers will launch on May 20, 2020.
