The Cyber Troopers: Virtual-On Masterpiece: 1995-2001 collection of the three arcade titles has released, alongside the Tanita Virtual-On twin sticks controllers specially crowdfunded for the series. However, you might remember that the real original premise for the twin stick controller was compatibility with the latest Virtual-On game, the crossover game A Certain Magical Virtual-On.

Well, for those people who helped crowdfund and now own a twin stick controller, a patch was released today for A Certain Magical Virtual-On (PS4 Ver only) which adds in support for the series’ original control scheme. The default control scheme for the game uses adapted controls meant to work with the Dualshock 4 and Vita button schemes.

Even if you don’t own the twin stick controller, the newly patched control scheme allows you to use the PS4 Dualshock 4 controller’s analogue sticks to simulate the twin sticks. The patch notes comes with a warning that parts of the tutorial are not controllable using the twin stick control scheme, so it’s best to get past the tutorial first.

Of course, for those who don’t already own A Certain Magical Virtual-On, there’s a tougher hurdle to overcome. The game “temporarily” stopped sales back in March both physically and digitally, and even with the latest patch, there are no signs that it will resume yet.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan.
