Ape Escape Celebrates 20th Anniversary With A Special Video And PS4 Theme For PS Plus Japan

It looked like Sony was teasing something for the Ape Escape series’ 20th anniversary, and they followed up with a commemorative 20th anniversary trailer as well as a PS4 theme for PS Plus subscribers in Japan.

 

In the special Ape Escape 20th anniversary video, we get to see a look back at all the releases since the very first game which released in 1999 for the PlayStation up to the last title in Ape Escape Move for PS3 in 2010.

Doko Demo Issyo also celebrates its 20th anniversary and it joins the mix with Ape Escape as part of a special PS4 theme available free exclusively for PS Plus subscribers in Japan. It’ll be available until August 6, 2019.

Lastly, Sony launched an official Ape Escape 20th Anniversary Twitter account that will have some comments and talk from the original developers, info on events, goods, and more.

 

Ape Escape first released in North America for PlayStation in May 31, 1999. It released a little later in Japan on June 24, 1999 then in Europe on July 2, 1999.
