Cadence of Hyrule Update Goes Through Octavo’s Ode

Brace Yourself Gamesā€™ Crypt of the Necrodancer was the sort of title that received multiple updates, and it seems some of that magic is rubbing off on Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo has announced a free update for the game. Once people download the immediately-available patch, they will be able to go through Octavoā€™s Ode.

Octavoā€™s Ode is an entirely new storyline for Cadence of Hyrule. This adds Octavo, the villain, as a playable character. Once you select him, youā€™ll try and use his unique abilities to take over the kingdom. It begins with Octavo stealing thread from a fortune teller in the game and using the Tri Force to create a Golden Lute. His goal is to find a champion to defeat Ganon.

This brings the total playable character count up to five. Previously, Cadence of Hyrule allowed people to play as Link, Zelda, Cadence, and Yves the Deku Scrub. Like those four, Octavo has his own unique abilities, like a Golden Lute, to make you rethink how to successfully survive this version of Hyrule. When Octavo uses his instrument, it damages enemies in three spaces around him.

This is the second Cadence of Hyrule update for 2019. In the previous one, achievements and co-op leaderboards were added.

Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda is available for the Nintendo Switch.
