Bandai also shared the project’s key visual poster art, and a live-action trailer.

Here’s the trailer.

The Digimon Seekers project will revolve around a novel, published weekly. It starts on April 3, 2023. It’ll be available in English, Chinese, and Japanese. The Japanese audio version of the novel will be read by voice actor Miyuki Sawashiro, who voiced Mirei Mikagura in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and Gammamon in Digimon Ghost Game.

Digimon Seekers is set in the Digimon world’s past, at the “dawn of digital world research.” At the time, even the existence of Digimon themselves wasn’t widely spread, but to human society, the AI lifeforms were considered “both a blessing and a curse.”

The protagonist is Eiji Nagasumi, a 19-year-old cracker who makes his living doing shady jobs in the digital world. Eiji is given a Digimon Linker, a new model of Digimon dock, and custody of Loogamon, a wolf-type Digimon with a mysterious interface on its head. The linker and Loogamon prove to be life-changing for Eiji. As he gets drawn deeper into the digital world, he becomes involved with its key power players, like the cracker-hating hacker Judge, the Digipolice cybercrime division, and the Sons of Chaos, an extremist “crack team.”

Bandai will also sell some new merchandise related to Digimon Seekers. A new version of the Vital Bracelet BE virtual pet will be sold via Premium Bandai in Japan. The Vital Bracelet BE looks the same as the Digimon Linker given to Eiji in the story. The Seekers set will include both a bracelet and a DIM card containing Loogamon, though the system’s compatible with other Vital Bracelet BE DIM cards.

Digimon Seekers begins on April 3, 2023.
