Does Armored Core 6 Have Cross-Play?

One of the most striking parts about Armored Core 6, beyond its lengthy and brilliant story, is the multiplayer component. Like other FromSoftware games, there are multiplayer modes for you to enjoy alongside your friends and rivals. But is no there cross-play for Armored Core 6 multiplayer.

Is there cross-play in Armored Core 6?

Unfortunately, if you want to enjoy Armored Core 6’s multiplayer modes, you’ll find that it is highly restrictive. At the time of launch, there is no cross-play functionality available for this massively entertaining and near-masterpiece-level FromSoftware game.

What you’ll find in the multiplayer modes is you can only play alongside the other players on the same platform as you, despite the game being available on all modern platforms besides Nintendo Switch. This means no Xbox players playing alongside PlayStation fans and not even PC will match up with any of the console platforms.

But the lack of cross-play in Armored Core 6 is even more limited than that. You can’t even play alongside players from other consoles within the same family as you. This means that PS4 and PS5 players can’t team up together, nor can Xbox One and Xbox Series X players compete against one another.

If you are on PS5, for instance, you are stuck playing all of the multiplayer modes alongside your fellow PS5 community members. This isn’t too surprising since FromSoftware’s previous award-winning masterful game, Elden Ring, had a similar issue with its online connectivity.

Armored Core 6’s multiplayer suite include the option to pick between one-on-one duels and 3v3 matches. Like the core gameplay of the main story, you are able to customize your mech to your liking for these multiplayer battles. Each matches feature one life for everyone in the lobby for a true competitive fight to the death.

Armored Core 6 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
