Edmund McMillen has revealed his plans for an expansion to his recently released roguelike shooter The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

Writing on his blog, McMillen said that he’ll be outlining his design doc for the expansion with publisher Nicalis once the holidays are over.

“i have big plans for this expansion, i hope to add a very huge chunk of gameplay in the form of a new game mode that will almost double the amount of things you can do,” McMillen wrote.

As well as a new game mode, McMillen says the expansion will have “more enemies, bosses, new areas, endings and a new playable character as well as a slew of new unique items to play with.”

At least 10 of the new items will be designed by the game’s community as McMillen has asked players to submit item ideas for the expansion to this Reddit thread. There are rules for submission that you can find at that link.

This upcoming expansion for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth should be released during 2015.
