Final Fantasy XIV is about to release the fifth expansion in the MMORPG’s history with the long-awaited Dawntrail. The new expansion will come out in two waves: an early access period and the full release. Here’s what you need to know about the FFXIV Dawntrail early access release date and time.
FFXIV Dawntrail Early Access Release Date
The release date and release time for Dawntrail begins with an early access period. Players will be able to play the entire expansion four days early if they happen to pre-order it before its full release. It doesn’t cost extra to enjoy the early access period or require the player to own the Digital Collector’s Edition or anything like that.
The FFXIV Dawntrail early access release date is set for June 28, 2024. As for the actual release time of the expansion’s early access, it is currently set for around 2 a.m. PDT (5 a.m. EDT). That is quite early in the morning of the day, so players can expect there to be a massive maintenance period beforehand. It is even possible that players will not be able to play the game on June 27, 2024, in preparation.

FFXIV Dawntrail Full Release Date and Time
Players will have four full days of early access. There will be no gate-keeping of content. For instance, if someone wants to try and beat the entire main scenario quest during this time, they can. After the four days are up, the full release date for FFXIV Dawntrail will finally arrive.
The actual release date for the full expansion is July 2, 2024. Players will need to redeem the full copy of the expansion to keep playing the expansion from this point forward. If it follows the example of the early access period, the actual full release time will likely be around 2 a.m. PDT (5 a.m. EDT), so check your local time.
Final Fantasy XIV is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Dawntrail will come out on July 2, 2024.
