FFXIV Omega Protocol (Ultimate) Raid Not Cleared by Team Unnamed

FFXIV Omega Protocol cleared

Team UNNAMED_ seemed to have cleared The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) in Final Fantasy XIV, but it now seems they cheated. The Japanese static achieved World First on January 30, 2023 at 10:34am (PT). The Omega Protocol (TOP) is the latest Ultimate Raid in FFXIV, and it was introduced on January 23, 2023, two weeks after the release of Patch 6.3. Team UNNAMED_ previously achieved the World First clear of Pandaemonium Abyssos (Savage), back in September 2022. Update: Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida issued a statement about the situation.

Ultimate Raids are some of the highest difficulty content in Final Fantasy XIV. They are designed to be tackled by statics, organized groups of eight high-level players that clear content together. Prior to TOP, Dragonsong’s Reprise (Ultimate) was considered the most difficult raid in FFXIV.

In a “Letter from the Producer LIVE” broadcasted back in December 2022, Yoshi-P said that TOP wouldn’t be as difficult as Dragonsong Ultimate (DSU). However, TOP has managed to prove even more challenging than Dragonsong Ultimate, as the new raid took 7 days of tries to complete, compared to the 6 days it took for DSU.

Historically, Ultimate Raids have consisted of 4 or 5 phases. Dragonsong Ultimate was the exception, being 7 phases long and including a checkpoint in between. Meanwhile, TOP counts with 6 phases and no checkpoints whatsoever. This means that players need to go through all the previous phases if they are wiped, making it the most challenging Ultimate Raid.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) was discussed on the patch notes for Patch 6.31.
