Final Fantasy VII Remake Reno Concept Art Shows His Rod

Square Enix yet again took to Twitter to discuss some behind-the-scenes details about Final Fantasy VII Remake, with Reno taking the spotlight this time. The tweet drops two pieces of trivia. The first one is about Reno’s attitude when he initially appears before Cloud, and the second one has to do with his scene in Chapter 12.

In Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cloud first meets Reno in Aerith’s Church, and you will encounter him in Chapter 8. Because his mission was to neutralize Cloud, rather than kill him, the development team made sure that he gave off a rather relaxed air. This came across in his various actions and quirks throughout the encounter.

Meanwhile, in Chapter 12 there was a scene in which he catches his weapon thrown at him, with the Shinra symbol being front and center. In this scene, the development team wanted to show Reno’s sense of responsibility and determination as a member of the Turks, which is a branch within the Shinra company. It also helps to serve as a symbol of his bond with Rude, his partner.

The Tweet also has some concept art for Reno’s appearance in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Aside from Reno himself, we can see the construction of his rod weapon. There is also art showing the general size of Reno’s pyramid mine. It looks like its the size of a hard-boiled egg.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on the PS4, PS5, and Windows PC.
