While Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will have paid DLC, the first round of free DLC characters has been revealed on Twitter.  Update 1 is on the way and will give people Cenozoic Blue Ranger, Dragon Armor Trini, and Udonna as playable characters for free. A release date has not been set for this update.

To help clarify things, the official Twitter account noted that these three characters will be completely free. They are different than the upcoming three Season One Pass. Also, it made sure people know the upcoming Season One Pass characters will cost money. (It is $14.99/£11.99 for the first Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid season pass.)

For those unfamiliar with the characters, all three are heroic. The Cenozoic Blue Ranger appeared in the 2017 movie and was one of the unnamed rangers from the Cenozoic era. The movie version of Billy Cranston took up this ranger’s mantle. Dragon Armor Trini refers to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Trini who wore the Black Dragon armor who was one of the leaders of The Coinless resistance in the Boom Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comics. Udonna is from Mystic Force Rangers, where she acted as their mentor. Here, she appears as the White Mystic Ranger.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PC version will also appear in 2019. PlayStation 4 owners will still be able to get the free Mighty Morphin Green Ranger V2 Skin add-on until April 8, 2019.
