Genshin Impact PlayStation Grand Award

Genshin Impact and RE Village Won the 2021 PlayStation Grand Award

Sony Interactive Entertainment wrapped up its PlayStation Partner Awards 2021 Japan Asia presentation by announcing the Grand Award winners. It gave awards to the top three games made by Japanese and Asian companies with the highest worldwide sales. The company counted both physical and digital sales made on PlayStation 4 and 5 from October 2020 to September 2021. As a result, the following three games won the PlayStation Grand Award: miHoYo’s Genshin Impact, Capcom’s Resident Evil Village, and Konami’s eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2021.

To celebrate the awards, Sony also uploaded separate videos; each dedicated to Genshin Impact, Resident Evil Village, and eFootball PES 2021. The videos contain subtitles in multiple languages, including English.

MiHoYo will be giving out 800 Primogems in Genshin Impact to celebrate.

This was the second year for Sony to hold the annual PlayStation Awards with a new format. In 2020, it rebranded the awards to PlayStation Partner Awards Japan Asia. The three titles that won the Grand Award in 2020 were Final Fantasy VII Remake, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020. The latter meant Konami’s yearly soccer game series had won the Grand Award back-to-back.

While Sony held the 2020 award presentation in a single stream, it delivered the awards differently in 2021. The company revealed the Partner and Special Awards first on December 2, 2021, while withholding the highest Grand Awards for the following day.
