Polyphony Digital released a major update for Gran Turismo 5 adding weather controls, cars from the 2011 NASCAR season, revised online lounge, and an avatar option in Photo Travel mode. The DLC update is free for all Gran Turismo 5 racers.
Japan is also getting the updated game on Blu-ray released under the title Gran Turismo 5 Spec II. If you want the game in English get it from Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong. They plan to release an English version Gran Turismo 5 Spec II, which includes paid DLC as part of the package on January 10.
Gran Turismo 5 Spec II includes the Spec 2.0 update, four cars from Car Pack 2, the Course Pack, Racing Car Pack, Racing Gear Pack, and Paint Pack for $39.99 if you get it from Play-Asia. That’s the same price as a vanilla copy of Gran Turismo 5 from your local GameStop.
