In God Wars: Future Past, stories from the Kojiki book and traditional folktales are meshed together as we follow Kintaro and Princess Kaguya as they travel across Mizuho. Princess Kaguya’s mother, Mizuho’s queen, sacrificed her other daughter, Sakuya, to stop a volcanic eruption. They go in search of her missing mother across the land, dealing with members of the Izumo and Hyuga nations, in the hopes that Kaguya won’t be forced to become a sacrifice too.
A few details about God Wars: Future Past’s strategic battle system have also been revealed. There’s an aggression system in play, where characters dealing lots of damage or helping allies will become impure. This impurity will make it more likely that enemies will attack them. There will also be large bosses that take up multiple tiles. These Myriad Gods will appear to challenge players, with powerful attacks that can hit multiple enemies.
God Wars: Future Past will come to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe in early 2017.
