Guacamelee! 2, a Metroidvania starring a luchador named Juan Aguacate, has a release date. PlayStation 4 and PC players will be able to pick it up on August 21, 2018. It will be $19.99. (PlayStation Plus members get a 20% pre-order discount.)
As part of the announcement, DrinkBox Studios’ Gary Corriveau made a post on the PlayStation Blog going over some of Guacamelee! 2’s features. In addition to a larger map and noting that Aguacate will have new Eagle Boost, GOOOTCHA! and Rocket Kick abilities, Corriveau noted some changes to the pollo form. When Aguacate is a chicken, he will have access to new abilities. For example, he could use Pollo Glide to temporarily fly in windy spots. A Pollo Shot could be used to bounce off of certain platforms or break purple blocks to get through spaces. He can also Pollo Slide his way through orange blocks.
Guacamelee! 2 will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC on August 21, 2018. The original Guacamelee! is available for the Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
