In fact, apart from being necessary requirements for other job classes, Human Power stats will directly help you in battle, by making it harder for your characters to be afflicted by status conditions. Here’s what each stat does below:

  • Passion: Reduces chances of Kiwami Seal status effect.
  • Mentality: Reduces chances of Sleep status.
  • Kindness: Reduces chances of Anger status.
  • Cheerfulness: Reduces chances of Scared status.
  • Intelligence: Reduces chances of Brainwashed status.
  • Style: Reduces chances of Infatuated status.

Additionally, the special Kiwami skill Kasuga can learn in his default Hero class increases its effects based on his Human Power.

The Hero’s Love skill increases the amount healed depending on his Kindness stat.

There are also places that Kasuga can’t go unless he has the stat requirement. Although for some reason, Kasuga’s being blocked from a public toilet of all places… It seems like there’s more to this place.

One part of Yakuza: Like a Dragon is about running a business to earn money more efficiently, and you’ll need to scout people to run your properties. Depending on your Human Power stats, you’ll be able to recruit certain people.

Human Power will also be key in Kasuga’s adventures in love. You won’t be able to hold conversations with Iroha, who works at Survive Bar, until you reach a certain stat. Other girls might require a different stat compared to Iroha. Later on, you can give presents to deepen your feelings, and the Kasuga and the girl you choose might have a special moment together…

Yakuza: Like a Dragon releases for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 16, 2020. You can read more about the hangout spot Survive Bar here.
