Hollow Knight: Silksong Delayed

There’s an update on Hollow Knight: Silksong, and it has to do with another delay. Team Cherry’s Matthew “Leth” Griffin, who handles the marketing and PR for the game, issued a statement on Twitter. Instead of arriving in early 2023 as planned, it is now pushed out of the first half.

Here is Griffin’s first statement. He cited the team’s desire to focus on the title’s quality as an explanation for the extended development.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a follow-up to the original game starring Hornet. In the original game, players would occasionally clash with her. As she wields a needle with a thread attached to it, her attacks are quite different than the Knight’s.

As a reminder, here’s how it looks:

We haven’t seen much of the game in the last few years. However, it did appear during the E3 2019 Nintendo Treehouse Live stream. It didn’t appear at E3 2021, for example.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it is delayed out of the first half of 2023. It will also be on Xbox Game Pass.
