How to Get More Battery in Tears of the Kingdom

Link has an endless amount of vehicles and gadgets he can create with his Zonai powers in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, you will need to unlock batteries if you don’t want your devices running out of juice. Here is how to get more battery to power your creations in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How do I get more battery in Tears of the Kingdom?

We’ve all been there. Link is just a few feet away from reaching a new sky Archipelago, only for his makeshift vehicle to stall out mid-flight and crash to the ground at the very last second. You won’t get very far in Hyrule if you don’t have enough battery to power your devices. After unlocking the Energy Cell during the Great Sky Island tutorial, Link needs batteries to keep it from running out of power while using his Zonai devices.

The easiest way to get more battery in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is to use Zonai Charges. If you are ever in a pinch and need to refill your Energy Cell, use a Zonai Charge to power the battery up. Zonai Charges can be found in chests at Shrines and are often given out as rewards. On Great Sky Island, you can visit the Forge Construct and trade in three Zonaite for one Charge in the Mining Cave.

If you want to increase the Energy Cell battery life permanently, you need to process Zonaite by trading it for Crystallized Charges. Once you’ve obtained 100 Crystallized Charges, you can then add an extra charge to the Energy Cell pack by visiting the Crystal Refinery on Great Sky Island or north of Lookout Landing.

You can find the exact locations of the Construct Forge and Crystal Refinery in the screenshots I’ve provided below:

Although Link is given multiple options to obtain more battery power in Tears of the Kingdom, you need to collect a lot of Crystallized Charges if you want to increase the Energy pack permanently. After getting over my fear of venturing into the Depths (don’t judge me, it’s terrifying), I found the quickest way to farm Large Zonaite Charges is to explore Hyrule’s underground map.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. If you’ve yet to reach Hateno Village, here’s how to do so.
