Ixion Clarion FFXIV

How to Get the Ixion Clarion in FFXIV

Final Fantasy XIV allows for players to obtain unique mounts through Savage and Extreme Trials, as well as through FATEs found in the overworld. One of the most coveted mounts in obtained through FATEs in FFXIV is Ixion, the thunder horse seen in Final Fantasy X, which can be summoned through the use of the Ixion Clarion. The mount was made available through the Stormblood expansion, and was a fairly tough one to obtain, requiring players to grind out specific FATEs in The Lochs in Gyr Abania.

After completing the prerequisites to get Ixion to spawn, players will also need the Stygian Ash item to remove the protective barrier around Ixion to actually do damage to it. A total of 12 Ixion Horns will be needed in order to receive the Ixion Clarion in FFXIV through its more traditional method. 6 Ixion Horns will be rewarded for gold participation in the event, with the lowest amount of horns received at bronze rank, which is 2. After the 12 horns are obtained go to Rhalgr’s Reach and speak to Eschina to receive the Clarion.

Other methods include doing the Faux Hollows weekly Unreal Trial, with the Ixion Clarion costing 400 Faux Leaves. It will take a handful of weeks to obtain the Ixion Clarion by this method. The other is doing the Wonderous Trials and obtaining a Khloe’s Gold Certificate of Commendation. However, an easier method is available, albeit temporary.

Another way to obtain the Ixion Clarion is through participation in the Moogle Treasure Trove event by obtaining Irregular Tomestones of Mendacity. It can be purchased for 50 Irregular Tomestones of Mendacity through the applicable vendor in Limsa Lominsa, Ul’dah, or Gridania. This is arguably faster than running Unreal Trials for weeks on end, or by completing your Wonderous Trials. So it is advised to take advantage of this event while it’s available and get the Ixion Clarion if you don’t already have it.

Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
