Best way to farm XP in Persona 3 Reload

One of the most frustrating things is unlocking a new Persona fusion, only to realize you can’t fuse it until you reach a higher level. This is especially annoying when trying to complete a quest like the fuse Oberon Elizabeth Request in Persona 3 Reload. So you may wonder, what is the best way to quickly farm XP? After 100 hours in the game, I have the answer.

The best way to level up in Persona 3 Reload is to run through floor sections you have already completed in Tartarus. Before you go, “Wait, that’s it?” there is more to it, I promise. Before you rush off to grind experience, there are a few steps you will need to take to set up this XP farming method.

Here are the steps you need to take to farm XP in P3R:

  • Fast travel to Club Escapade in Paulownia Mall during the Evening when you plan to go into Tartarus.
  • Speak to the Fortune teller once inside, and choose the “Rarity Fortune” option to increase your chances of running into a rare shadow while in Tartarus.
  • Travel to Tartarus and enter a floor section you’ve already completed. Once inside, run through the eight levels.
  • As you go through the levels, battle any Shadows you see. During the Shuffle Phase, continue to pick the Arcana cards when they appear until you get an Arcana Burst.
  • Once your Arcana Burst is active, you have a chance to get a level 4 or higher experience card after every battle.
  • During your farming run, look out for any Gold Shadows. Killing them will give you double XP, especially if you pick the experience card in the Shuffle Phase.
  • Continue running the floors repeatedly until you are done grinding XP.

How to get EXP in Persona 3 Reload

The first step in this farming method requires getting into Club Escapade in Paulownia Mall. However, you must have your Courage Social Stat to Rank 2 “Ordinary” before you can enter the nightclub. Once you have reached that rank, you can find the Fortune Teller near the entrance of the dance venue.

The Fortune Teller in Club Escapade also has the “Gamble Fortune,” which increases your chances of enemies turning into strong or rare enemies. So, if you find yourself now running into enough Golden Shadows, consider using that fortune instead.

At its core, the XP farming method centers around you repeatedly running through Tartarus levels you’ve already cleared and killing any shadow you see. So the Fortunes are just a boost to add to your experience. Depending on how long you are willing to find, the Gamble Fortune might actually pay off more in the long run.

After you have chosen your Fortune, head over to Tartarus and use the floor terminal to select a section of the tower you have already completed. I recommend the highest level you have reached so far, as it will feature higher-level enemies, which means more experience. Once you have loaded into the floor, run around and look for any shadows to attack.

After several battles, you will eventually trigger a Shuffle Time. What you want to look for are the Arcana cards. After you have selected all of them, you will activate your Arcana Burst, giving you a chance to get Level 4 or higher Wands cards, which give you EXP up. From here on out, select the XP card whenever you get a Shuffle Time phase.

Finally, make sure to look out for any Golden Shadows. As you repeatedly run through the floors, you will eventually run into the rare Shadows, which we boosted with our Fortune earlier. After defeating these, you will have a chance to get double XP, which can easily get as high as 5,000.

Persona 3 Reload XP Reaper Method

Technically, there is another method that will have you leveling up 40 to 50 levels after one battle. Your eyes aren’t misreading that; yes, your levels jump by that much! However, before diving into it, I must warn you that it requires “cheesing” a major boss fight with the easiest difficulty level.

After reaching level 62 on Tartarus, you unlock the reaper Persona 3 Reload boss fight. Before fighting the incredibly difficult Shadow, turn your game’s difficulty settings to “Peaceful.” This will give you infinite revives. Your entire party will respawn back into battle after the Reaper knocks everyone out with full HP and SP. More importantly, the Reaper’s damage progression carries over. Meaning, you can slowly take his health down while infinitely reviving your team over and over.

  • Turn your game’s difficulty level to Peaceful.
  • Explore any level after floor 62 in Tartarus, and wait 5 min until the Reaper shows up.
  • Fight the Reaper and attack him with everything you have. Even if you are doing very little damage, keep attacking him till he knocks everyone out.
  • A cutscene will play that says, “This can’t be the end…can it?”. Select the “I can’t die yet” option and revive your entire party.
  • Keep attacking the Reaper and reviving every time you get knocked out. Repeat this until you eventually whittle his health down.
  • After defeating the Reaper, select the Wands EXP card to get over 500k XP.

Granted, some players may not be okay “cheesing” this boss fight this way, which is totally fair. However, since this is a guide about the fastest way to level up, I figured I would include it just in case some players want to take advantage of this option. I do warn you, though, this is pretty game-breaking.

In my testing of this method, my party went from level 35 all the way to level 79 after the battle – which is absolutely broken beyond belief. So use this method carefully, and only if you are absolutely desperate to level up quickly.

Persona 3 Reload is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/ S, and PC.
