Sega is planning to hold one more live stream before the new arcade game’s launch on February 19, 2021, at 20:00 JST (6 AM ET). The company’s staff members will deliver even more information about the game in this stream.

Sega also published a new teaser trailer that confirmed the dates for both the arcade game’s launch and the upcoming live stream.

A fair amount of details for Initial D The Arcade were revealed during the previous live stream held in December 2020. The new arcade game will go back to the series’ manga roots. Players will be put into an alternate storyline as a new rising star. It will also apply a manga-like monochromic filter with visualized sound effects to the game’s cutscenes.

After a departure to rock music in Arcade Stage Zero, Initial D The Arcade will return to the Eurobeat genre popularized by the anime adaptations. However, in place of the anime’s Super Eurobeat songs, Sega will insert brand-new songs produced by A-One, of Toho Eurobeat fame. One of the artists who performed Super Eurobeat songs, Ken Blast, has also been confirmed to provide a new song for this game.

Initial D The Arcade will launch in Japanese arcades on February 25, 2021.
