Is it Worth Using a Carving Knife in Monster Hunter Now? Answered

In any Monster Hunter game, the end of every hunt players can carve up valuable monster parts and refine them into Weapons or Armor. Monster Hunter Now is no different. However here your Carving Knife is less of a persistent tool and something you can use to redeem extra rewards at the end of Hunts. This guide breaks down whether or not it’s worth using the Carving Knife in Monster Hunter Now. (Especially since it’s become a limited item!)

Is it Worth Using a Carving Knife in Monster Hunter Now

This answer is a little complicated. Clearly, using a Carving Knife is ideal, as it grants you twice the amount of rewards after completing a hunt. Carving Knifes also save you from spending 300 gems to receive the same rewards. That said, if you are farming gear, it is worth using a Carving Knife so you can work closer to whatever Armor Set or Weapon you’ve been grinding away for.

Personally, I would save Carving Knives for more challenging Hunts, and wouldn’t bother using them on anything in the lower Hunter Ranks. This is because most of the low Hunter Rank encounters can be done effectively by yourself. Anything that you feel requires more than one person, or is more challenging and has you tighter on time, would probably be worth using a Carving Knife on.

Again, this is entirely up to you as to how you should use your Carving Knives. I would just say use them sparingly, and keep hoarding them in your inventory until you feel like you should use them. As mentioned previously, I don’t think they should be used at all during the lower Hunter Rank fights, mostly because it’s waste of a valuable item that can avoid you spending hard earned currency on something like doubling your rewards.

Monster Hunter Now is now available for Android and iOS.
