Japan Game Scenario Writers Association Begins Initiative To Provide Scripts For Games No Longer Available

The Japan Game Scenario Writers Association announced this week that they will be beginning a new initiative where the scripts for games that are no longer accessible are released to a public archive for preservation.   For example, game consoles span generations, with older games becoming unavailable; meanwhile the mobile game industry sees service shutdowns very frequently as well. These game scenario scripts will be then archived and released to the public for preservation’s sake.   The first game to enter this project is Bandai Namco’s Project LayereD, a mobile game that ended service earlier this year in January. The scripts have been provided by kei Shigema. The game scenario archive is accessible here, and you can find the full text after clicking on the green-colored Agree button near the bottom of the page.
