Live A Live Collector's Edition

Live a Live Collector’s Edition Includes a Full Board Game

The new Japanese Live a Live Collector’s Edition is bringing the three “B’s”: A Bot, a Bag, and a Board Game. Now that the long-teased remake of the classic, SNES-era JRPG has finally emerged, Square Enix is opening up its marketing in earnest, and it begins with a physical edition packed with goodies.

Pre-orders for the bundle are available on its Japanese e-Shop. The package costs 22,000 Yen (about $190), and buying it from the Square Enix e-Shop will also net a collectible sticker featuring pixel art and character designs from the game.

Besides the game itself, the Live a Live Collector’s Edition includes the previously confirmed model kit of the Steel Titan (aka Buriki Daioh) and an enamel tote bag in white with a red border and the game logo decorating it. A two-disc soundtrack also comes included, with packaging that features artwork from manga artist and character designer Kazuhiko Shimamoto. Shimamoto is responsible for manga series like Blazing Transfer Student and Aoi Honoo.

Finally, the Live a Live Collector’s Edition comes with a competitive Live a Live-themed board game. The game includes a board and several pieces that are decorated with art of the different characters. Details about how the board game plays aren’t available, but it appears to involve cards that represent attacks, with their areas of effect represented on the grid. The characters also seem to have their own cards with profiles to represent their different qualities.

Live a Live comes out on the Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022. Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition are available on the Japanese e-shop until July 22, 2022.
