Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition has two extra episodes “Lost in Nightmares” and “Desperate Escape.” Lost in Nightmares takes place as a flashback where Chris and Jill raid Spencer’s mansion. It’s new content, but Yasuhiro Anpo, the Director of Resident Evil 5, originally planned to put this chapter in the game.
That was before Resident Evil 5 had cooperative play for the whole game. In a blog post, Anpo writes the content was cut because he didn’t want players to change from Sheva to Jill in the middle of the game. After many players requested to play as Jill, Anpo decided to make it happen in Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. The transition, he says, has a very natural flow.
Jill and Josh, who’s playable in Desperate Escape, have new moves.
Josh can elbow drop and tackle Majini.
Jill has a neck twist a high kick.
Here are more screenshots of the Desperate Escape chapter which comes out on March 3rd as downloadable content and February 18 on Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition discs for Japan.
