Get close to the My Time at Sandrock shop owners

The simplest reason to want to build your relationship in My Time at Sandrock is to get perks granting a sizable discount at many of the shops in town. While the amount differs based on the character in question, some of them can grant discounts as high as 25%.

Good targets to start buttering up include Owen, whose bar is a major source of stamina replenishment, Fang who runs the clinic and offers many healing items, and Mayor Trudy who, once she returns to the town, can offer up to 20% on buying more land for your workshop.

Finally, while Yan only offers a measly 10% discount in his store he can also grant a 5% bonus to money earned through the already lucrative commissions.

Some townsfolk grant stat bonuses instead of discounts, with the biggest bonuses coming from local strongman Pen. Getting him up to Good Friend status will grant you 5 attack points, 100 health points and a bonus 5% critical chance, making him well worth getting to know.

It may also be worth throwing a few gifts at Sheriff Justice and Unsuur, who provide an extra 5 points to Attack and Defense respectively, at Buddy rank.

Don’t forget animals and stamina buffs

As well as the townsfolk themselves, many of the animals and pets in My Time at Sandrock can also offer useful Relationship Perks. Coco the owl, Machiatto the cat, Captain the cat, Nemo the dog, and the elusive Meerkat each give you an extra 20 stamina points each for getting them to Friend rank. (You can also get this bonus from Mi-an and Jensen, too.) Meanwhile, Sandy the camel and X the crow offer 100 health points each just for getting them to buddy rank.

My Time at Sandrock is available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
