Square Enix will release a NieR art book and NieR Automata manga in English in 2022 through its Square Enix Manga & Books imprint. First, NieR Art – Kazuma Koda Art Collection will release on October 25, 2022. Then the manga YoRHa – Pearl Harbor Descent Record – A NieR: Automata Story Vol. 1 will follow on December 13, 2022.
NieR Art – Kazuma Koda Art Collection is a hardcover book collecting artwork from series concept artist Kazuma Koda. It features his art from NieR Automata, NieR Reincarnation, and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… The book will additionally include commentary from Koda, brand new art, rough sketches, album cover art, and promotional images for the YoRHa stage plays. NieR Art – Kazuma Koda Art Collection clocks in at 160 pages, retails for $27.99, and is available to pre-order at various retailers now.
Meanwhile, YoRHa – Pearl Harbor Descent Record – A NieR: Automata Story Vol. 1 is a NieR Automata manga set in the year 11941. It is a prequel to the video game, which occurs in the year 11945. The premise is that the Council of Humanity has just established the YoRHa, an infantry unit of female androids. They are headed to Earth to fight back against the invaders that forced humanity to flee to the Moon. The manga volume is 192 pages in length and comes from series creator Yoko Taro and illustrator Megumu Soramichi. YoRHa – Pearl Harbor Descent Record – A NieR:Automata Story Vol. 1 retails for $12.99 physically or $8.99 digitally, and it is available to pre-order physically and digitally at various retailers now.
Square Enix also announced the new novel NieR Re[in]carnation: The Girl and the Monster for Japan. Prior to that, it announced a NieR Automata anime.
