Nioh’s “Dragon of the North” DLC Will Let You Face Off Against Masamune Date

Nioh is set to receive a brand-new set of DLC on May 2nd, and the PlayStation blog has given a sneak peek at what players can expect in the new content.

The “Dragon of the North” DLC will take place in the Oshu region of Japan, and will notably feature historical figure Masamune Date, otherwise known as the “One-Eyed Dragon.” Here’s a look at an overview of the chapter from the PlayStation blog:

“This new chapter picks up after William’s valiant victory in restoring peace to Japan. In keeping with the tradition of our inspiration through Japanese history and mythology, the central character for this new chapter is based on Lord Masamune Date, the ruler of the Sendai feudal domain in the Keicho Era (about 400 years ago). In our opinion, his personality and exploits in history lend himself to become a key player to contend with in the story.”

In addition, the Dragon of the North will add new stages and new Yokai to battle, as well as some new Guardian Spirits, armor, ninja skills, magic and a brand new weapon called the Odachi. This DLC will also see the debut of the PvP feature, although a PlayStation Plus subscription is required.
