People more excited by the Final Fantasy XII demo than Dragon Quest VIII?

This article is over 18 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s no question that packaging in a playable demo of Final Fantasy XII was a smart move to push sales of Dragon Quest VIII. But is the demo more popular than the actual game? Looking at eBay auctions, used demo discs of Final Fantasy XII fetch a price between $15-$20 while used copies of Dragon Quest VIII sell around $35. That’s a steep price to pay for a demo, when you can get a full game for a little more than double your money.
