Persona 5 Scramble Localization Not Mentioned at Koei Tecmo’s Q2 2020 Report

Koei Tecmo previously teased a Western localization for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in the company’s financial reports. However, the company’s latest report, which was made for the 2nd quarter of the 2020 fiscal year, does not include any mention of that release.

One of the latest teases for Persona 5 Scramble‘s overseas release still available to view publicly appeared in Koei Tecmo’s financial report for the full 2019 fiscal year in April 2020. American and European releases of the game were also specifically mentioned in the report for the first quarter of FY 2020 in July 2020. However, Koei Tecmo’s IR Presentation page has since replaced the link for the latter report with a revised version that removed any mentions of Persona 5 Scramble‘s western releases on Page 11. Only the Asian localization of the game—released in June 2020—is mentioned on the 5th page of the revised document.

Koei Tecmo’s newest financial report does not mention the Western localization of Persona 5 Scramble in the company’s future plans either. It now focuses on Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which will be released simultaneously worldwide on November 20, 2020. The remaining console titles listed in the presentation—Atelier Ryza 2, Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack, and the new DLC for Nioh 2—will all be released within this fiscal year that ends in March 2021.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is the first action-RPG in Atlus’ Persona series, as its gameplay is based on the Koei Tecmo’s Musou franchise. It is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan and Asia. Sega previously filed a trademark for Persona 5 Strikers, which will likely be the title for the game’s English version.
