Persona 5’s Online Features Allow You To Get Help From Other Players In Dungeons, Battles, And More



Atlus shared details in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine on online features for Persona 5, which will let you get help from other players in different ways throughout the course of your journey in the upcoming RPG. [Thanks, Hachima.]


Phantom Thief Alliance

A network element called “Phantom Thief Alliance” adds a new way of enjoyment. The player is free to choose whether they use network functions or not. This doesn’t change anything in the story.



If a comrade falls in battle, they can be taken hostage. If you refuse the demand of items or fail the negotiations, the ally gets KO’d, but you can use the Phantom Thief Alliance to get help from other players.


Caution Degree Meter

If discovered in a dungeon, the Caution Degree Meter rises, and security gets tighter. In the worst case scenario, you’ll no longer be able to continue with the exploration, but defeating enemies by catching them by surprise or going on another day lowers the caution meter.


At times, an enemy might find themselves in a pinch and run away, which also increases the Caution Degree Meter, but this can also be prevented using the Phantom Thief Alliance function.


Daily Lives Part

You can interact with co-op partners about your everyday life spent as a high school student or the work you put into part-time jobs. For example, when you’re not sure what to do, you can check out the action records of what other players did for reference. For the questions during classes, you can use a function to see the answer rate of other players if you need help.


Persona 5 is releasing in Japan on September 15, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
