It has been confirmed that this will not be a playable segment in Village. Instead, this will function purely as a cinematic. The mentioned picture book segment in Resident Evil Village is a folktale that will tie into the game’s story in some way.
In addition to this, the developers answered a question regarding the potential PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil Village. They want to retain the “immersive feeling” of Village, including the graphics’ quality, for these potential versions. However, they did not mention if these versions are confirmed for release.
Other information from the interview includes subjects that were covered during the Tokyo Game Show 2020 Capcom presentation. This covers the new enemy type in Resident Evil Village, the “merchant” style character that appeared in a previous trailer, and the involvement of Chris Redfield.
Resident Evil Village is in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it will launch in 2021. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil Village are currently in development.
