Pikmin 2 And Metal Slug Head To North America’s eShop

This week, people in North America with the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch have two classic games to savor. First, the Nintendo Wii version of Pikmin 2 has joined the Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console. As for the Nintendo Switch, the original Metal Slug is now available as ACA NeoGeo Metal Slug.

 

While Pikmin 2 originally appeared on the GameCube in 2004, the version available on the eShop is the 2009 New Play Control version that came to the Nintendo Wii. In this updated version, players help Captain Olimar and his coworker Louie have headed back to the Pikmin planet to collect its treasures to help pay off the Hocotate Freight debt. The updated version has widescreen support, slightly enhanced graphics, a control scheme with the Wii remote, and some gameplay and UI adjustments. It is $19.99 in the eShop.

 

ACA NeoGeo Metal Slug is a version of the game that originally appeared in arcades, on the Neo Geo, and on the Neo Geo CD in 1996. General Morden is trying to take over the world with Metal Slugs, and Captain Marco Rossi and Lieutenant Tarma Roving are sent to stop him. The two go running and gunning through six levels, defeating and reclaiming Metal Slugs along the way. It is $7.99 on the eShop.
