The dating simulation that will combine nonogram puzzles, like the ones you see in Jupiter’s Picross games with finding love will launch this month. Pixel Puzzle Makeout League will appear on both the Nintendo Switch and PC on October 30, 2020. People will be able to play its PC demo during the Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition until October 13, 2020.
This dating sim follows Pixel Girl, a woman who became a superhero when playing nonograms. She then becomes a member of the Puzzle League, where every superhero is connected to a different sort of popular puzzle. Potential love interests include Chess, Crossword, Sudoku, and an anthropomorphic jigsaw puzzle piece named Piecea. You’ll play through visual novel segments while also solving 250 nonograms.
Here’s the latest trailer, which shows all of Pixel Puzzle Makeout League’s love interests and some of the nonograms you’ll get to solve.
Hybrid games that combine nonograms with other sorts of gameplay have been rather common in the last few years. Murder by Numbers, which has character designs from Hatoful Boyfriend’s Hato Moa, is an adventure game with nonograms. There’s also PictoQuest, which has some light RPG elements.
Pixel Puzzle Makeout League will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC on October 30, 2020.
