The Pokemon Company has issued a statement, asking consumers to refrain from using the previously released Pokeball Mobile Battery Anker. This statement also includes a voluntary recall from the company regarding the Pokeball battery. The official statement from The Pokemon Company elaborates on the reason for the recall, and how to receive refunds. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
The reason for the recall is due to reports of the Pokeball Mobile Battery Anker burning. While the cause of this issue could not be identified and no defect in the product design was found, The Pokemon Company is still taking this issue seriously. For that very reason, they have issued a voluntary recall of the product. The model in question is the Pokeball Mobile Battery Anker 10000mAh.
This product was originally available to obtain from June 2017 to October 2017. Those eligible to receive a refund can send an e-mail or call by telephone to arrange the refund. However, the Pokeball Mobile Battery Anker 10000mAh included in the Pokemon Go deluxe set is not available for refunds. Additionally, The Pokemon Company asks consumers to refrain from using the charger any further.
There is currently no word if overseas consumers will be eligible for refunds on this particular product.
