The announcement included a quick overview of what sorts of cards people can expect. This expansion will bring in a number of new special cards. There will be 21 V cards, eight VSTAR cards, and two VMAX ones. The Hisuian starters will show up as both V and VSTAR cards. Three new Radiant Pokemon cards will also show up.

Here’s how the Elite Trainer Box and booster packs will look for this new expansion.

As a reminder, the Hisuian starters debuted in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. These versions have both new appearances and typings than the original Decidueye, Samurott, and Typhlosion.

While people wait, there is another new expansion to consider. The Pokemon TCG Brilliant Stars set is out now. It adds VSTAR cards to the game. Some of the more notable cards are the Arceus VSTAR and Kingler and Urshibfu VMAX ones.

The Pokemon TCG Sword & Shield – Astral Radiance expansion will launch on May 27, 2022 outside Japan.
