Niantic has announced that the 1.11.2 Apple iOS and 0.41.2 Android updates for Pokémon GO have begun rolling out. In addition to a number of minor fixes and updates, including shortening the evolution animation and adjusting audio issues, this version of the game adds a Catch Bonus and updates gym training.
The Catch Bonus refers to a bonus people will get for having earned various medals. In Pokémon GO, catching 10, 50, or 200 of a specific type of Pokémon will earn you medals of various degrees. After the update, you will get a +1, +2, or +3 catch bonus for having reached those tiers. For dual type Pokémon, the Catch Bonus will be the average of the two medals you have for that type. As an example, one of these medals is Kindler, for catching 10, 50, or 200 fire-types.
The gym training update makes it easier to improve gyms held by your Pokémon GO team. You can bring six Pokémon into a training session now, instead of just one, and the CP of the target Pokémon may be lower for the purposes of training.
The Pokémon GO egg and incubator screens have been adjusted as well. They will show how far you’ve walked without having to actually bring up the screen for it.
Pokémon GO is available for Apple iOS and Android devices.
