During a PlayStation State of Play, a remake of Resident Evil 4 was announced. This featured a brief look at recreated environments, like the village seen at the start of the game, and character designs. However, Capcom has opened an official website for the Resident Evil 4 remake, which reveals that the game will also see a “reimagined” storyline. While it’s clear that certain character designs have been modified for the remake, with Ashley, Ada, and Luis appearing briefly in the trailer, this won’t be the only change made. The website states that the Resident Evil 4 remake will see a reimagined storyline, it will also feature more modernized gameplay elements. However, Capcom has yet to reveal how any of this will manifest. The trailer simply provided a glimpse into how the iconic starting area in Resident Evil 4 has been slightly modified for the remake.

On Twitter, the official Japanese Resident Evil account stated that the trailer shown at the State of Play was just a teaser trailer. This means an extended version of the trailer will potentially appear in near future.
The Resident Evil 4 remake will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 24, 2023.
