Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi has served as the producer for Lost Planet, Onimusha 3, and chief producer for Resident Evil 5. He revealed in an interview with Famitsu that his next title will be one for the PlayStation 4. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

According to the report, Takeuchi told Famitsu that he has been working on a PlayStation 4 title, and it has progressed quite a lot thus far. He also shared his enthusiasm toward working on Sony’s latest console.

When asked if Capcom have more plans for other PS4 titles besides Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and deep down, Takeuchi responded with a firm “of course”. He also said that at the moment, they’re currently struggling to find out how much they can evolve the game engine.

“As far as the quality of the game I’m currently working on goes, I’m sure you all will be surprised,” he told Famitsu.

While Takeuchi didn’t share more about the said title he’s working on, he shared that the time for an announcement will come soon.

“Not only domestically, but we’re making it into something that will turn plenty of heads if we were to release it in the foreign market as well.”

Something to note is that, while our headline says that the game is in development for PlayStation 4, it is probably not a PS4 exclusive. Keep in mind that this interview was conducted in Japan, where PlayStation platforms are far more relevant than Xbox platforms, which is why Takeuchi was asked about the PS4 in particular.
