Now that Romancing SaGa 2 has been released in Japan on smartphone and PlayStation Vita, series creator Akitoshi Kawazu shared with Famitsu that he’d be interested in doing a new version for Romancing SaGa 3.

During the interview, Famitsu asks about the possibilities of seeing other SaGa series games get remakes.

Romancing SaGa 3 has yet to get a remake [not counting the direct ports on Wii and Wii U Virtual Console] and the feeling of wanting to make one is there,” shared Kawazu. “There are some parts that I wanted to work on more, like having a Commander Mode, and such.”

When given Romancing SaGa 2’s reception, Famitsu says that a new development just might be possible.

Producer Masanori Ichikawa added that they would like to do more and plan to hype up the SaGa series in various other ways, so he hopes to see its continued support.

“First, I hope to see you play Romancing SaGa 2 on PlayStation Vita and smartphone,” said Kawazu. “Although, I think it’ll be pretty difficult to clear [laughs], but please try getting to the last boss.”

“There’s about a hundred hours of play-volume packed in there,” commented Ichikawa. “By all means, check out the game and its style that is different from the past, as you might catch yourself saying ‘so you can also play it like this!’”
