Sony is releasing a demo of their new Ape Escape game for the PSP, Sarugetchu: SaruSaru Daisakusen, at the World Hobby Fair on June 23. Not in Japan? No problem. The demo will also be available to download via the Playstation 3 on the Japanese Playstation Store. Don’t have a Playstation 3? Then pick up the 8MB demo on the official web site. Downloadable demos of Sarugetchu: SaruSaru Daisakusen are due to come out on June 29.

Sarugetchu: SaruSaru Daisakusen twists the Ape Escape formula a tiny bit by letting players take control of the monkeys through a special helmet. Considering how many monkeys the Ape Escape team comes up with (remember Ape Ratchet and Pipo Snake?) there are some exciting possibilities and the team already revealed the Salaryman Saru! Sony has Sarugetchu: SaruSaru Daisakusen scheduled to come out in Japan on July 26. Meanwhile a North American release has not been announced yet.
