People have a better chance at seeing shiny versions of two kinds of Pokemon. However, they’ll have to use Pokemon GO to get them. Niantic announced a Pokemon GO Home event, to promote the fact you can transfer characters from the mobile game to the storage hub, will begin on November 17, 2020. To celebrate, there are increased odds of seeing a shiny Meltan or Slowpoke.
One will definitely be easier to find than the other. During this seven-day event, Slowpokes will appear more often. They’ll be showing up in eggs, Field Research rewards, raids, and the wild. All of them have an increased chance to be a Shiny Slowpoke during this event.
As for the Shiny Meltan, finding that buddy will be a bit more difficult. As usual, you have to activate a Mystery Box to get one to show up. This is connected to Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! and character transfers, so keep those games in mind and ready when trying to reload. The shiny version of this Pokemon first showed up in March 2019, and you have to wait for special events like this to catch one.
These aren’t the only highlights of the Pokemon GO Home event. Other Pokemon will appear more frequently during it. There will be Melmetal avatar items to buy with coins in the Style Shop. New Field Research Tasks will appear. You’ll be able to get Pidgeot Mega Energy without having to fight in raids too.
Here are the Pokemon GO Home event’s special Pokemon and where you’ll find them.
- In Eggs: Anorith, Lileep, Kabuto, Nidorans, Omanyte, and Slowpoke will all be in 5km eggs.
- In Raids: Alolan Vulpix, Cobalion, Klink, Magnemite, Shinx, Slowpoke, Terrakion, Timburr, and Virizion will appear.
- In the Wild: Alolan Diglett, Alolan Sandshrew, Anorith, Cottonee, Ditto, Foongus, Hoothoot, Lileep, Magnemite, Porygon, Remoraid, Slowpoke, and Whismur will show up.
Pokemon GO is available on Android and Apple iOS devices. The Pokemon GO Home event, with its Shiny Meltan and Slowpoke opportunities, will run from November 17-23, 2020.
