Sega has revealed Sonic Forces’ third playable character. In addition to Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic, there will be an original Hero Character. This customizable avatar looks exactly the way you would like him or her too and features prominently in the fight against Eggman.

Players can determine what race their Sonic Forces Custom Hero is, with each having their own special ability. Here’s the list of species’ traits.

  • Wolf – Automatically draws in rings when near them

  • Rabbit – Has longer invincible time after receiving damage

  • Cat – Keeps one ring after being hit

  • Dog – Restarts with five rings after the player dies

  • Bear – Blows away enemies with a homing attack

  • Bird – Flies high with double jump abilities

  • Hedgehog – Collects rings when getting damaged

  •

You determine what outfits and accessories your characters wear, as well as their facial features and fur’s color scheme. We also get to see this avatar use custom equipment, like a grappling hook, and their Sonic Colors-inspired Wispon gadgets that grant them special abilities in additional gameplay footage.
