Sonic running on the PSP

Sonic Rivals is an interesting take on the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Mix the racing aspect of Sonic R and add it to the classic Genesis games and you get Sonic Rivals. Players race against a rival to the end of the level while tripping, shoving and vaulting their way to the finish line. The game does support wireless racing where players can bet trading cards to up the stakes of a win. What is probably more exciting about Sonic Rivals is that it is a 2D/3D hybrid game similar to New Super Mario Brothers. The game uses 3D environments, but it brings back 2D running. All this game needs is to feel fast like the classic sonic titles and this game could redeem Sonic Team from releasing Shadow the Hedgehog.
