In addition, Square Enix also revealed the key staff list for Towatsugai. ILCA’s Nao Hakumoto is responsible for writing the game’s concept and world settings, and the illustrator Yukisame is creating the character designs. Keiichi Okabe of NieR:Automata fame will not be the only composer for the title, as fellow Monaca composer Shotaro Seo will also join him.

The teaser trailer for Towatsugai is available to watch right below. It shows that the game will tell a story about two girls who always want to stick together, even when external forces force them to separate from each other.

Square Enix has been revealing multiple new game projects in Japan in addition to this new mobile title. At the Japanese September 2022 Nintendo Direct, it revealed Ketsugou Danshi: Elements With Emotions that features an all-male cast of characters representing chemical elements. While the latter is also going to be a free-to-play mobile game, it will also come to Nintendo Switch. Square Enix has yet to announce an English localization for both Towatsugai and Ketsugou Danshi.

Towatsugai will be available as a free-to-play game on Android and iOS mobile devices in Japan in 2023.
