SystemSoft Alpha just finished porting Daisenryaku VII Exceed on the PSP and the next entry in the military tactics series is scheduled to come out in August 28. How did a small company like SystemSoft finish up a new game so quickly? Daisenryaku: Dai Toua Kouboushi – Tora Tora Tora Ware Kishuu Ni Seikou Seri isn’t exactly new, it’s a PC to PlayStation port. The console version includes more polished maps, 3D attack animations, and if you pick up the PlayStation 2 version a campaign with the USA. A PSP version is scheduled to come out simultaneously, but it will not include the extra campaign.
To make up for the content difference SystemSoft Alpha is only charging 5,040 yen ($47) for portable release. The extra content on the PlayStation 2 version bumps the price up 2,100 yen ($20) to 7,140 ($67). Quite a difference compared to the budget $20 price tag Valcon Games gave Daisenryaku VII Exceed when it came out in North America. I suppose they are the most likely publisher to localize this since they have a background with the series. However, they seem to be busy with other niche games like Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon, which commenter Dusty B. told us (thanks!!) is only $15 at Amazon.com when it comes out this August.
