Aloy will continue to be the controllable protagonist. Los Angeles appears to be a hostile and untamed forest to explore. You can either traverse it via water, or use the Sunwing to fly arond. The expansion will continue from the ending of Horizon Forbidden West. Aside from a new story, there will be new characters to meet. More information and details on the expansion set will appear in the near future.

According to the development team, this game will be exclusive to the PS5. This is so that the team can focus its efforts on bringing its “grand technical and creative vision” to life. PlayStation 4 players will not be able to play the expansion unless they upgrade to a next-gen console.

Burning Shores is in development, and the DLC expansion will come out for Horizon Forbidden West on April 19, 2023 for the PS5. Horizon Forbidden West is readily available for the PS4 and PS5.
