NIS America confirmed that The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails will appear on the PC in Japan on December 11, 2021. It also confirmed that an English version will follow. Though that will come in 2023.

The port will be developed by the studio PH3 games. Co-founded by game modder Peter “Durante” Thoman, it specializes in software development and optimization. It helped bring other Nihon Falcom titles like The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, and Ys IX: Monstrum Nox to PCs.
The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is an unusual game compared to other Trails titles. Though it does not have an explicit connection to the other games, it is considered part of the franchise. It combines a more light-hearted and adventurous tone with action-RPG gameplay more reminiscent of the Ys series. It takes place in Lost Heaven. Nayuta, the protagonist, is a resident of Remnant Island. Lately, the island and its surrounding territories have been bombarded by falling stars. These leave behind “star fragment” stones. When exposed to light, the stones give visions of a phantom incarnation of Lost Heaven. Nayuta sets out to investigate the mystery behind them.
The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails first released in 2012 for the PSP. PS4 and Nintendo Switch editions appeared in Japan. NIS America confirmed localizations of it and several other Legend of Heroes titles via an Epic Games Store leak, then via official announcement.
