TBS Animation announced that the sequel to The Quintessential Quintuplets, interpreted by fans as a season 3, will be a movie. The news comes from TBS Animation’s official website. The film will release in Japan in 2022. TBS Animation also tweeted the announcement to its official Twitter account. The company offered a brief message to fans, which read: “Thanks to all of your support, the sequel will be a movie. It will release in 2022, so we hope you’ll look forward to it.” Back when the studio announced that it had a follow-up to season 2 in the works, fans expected a season 3 of The Quintessential Quintuplets. However, in a surprise twist, The Quintessential Quintuplets sequel will be a movie. TBS Animation also provided a promotional poster for the upcoming film with all characters in bridal dresses. In addition to two seasons of anime and a manga series, the franchise also has a video game. Mages developed and published the visual novel The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬: Summer Memories Come in Fives. Mages only released the game in Japan in March 2021. With the second season of the anime also wrapping up in March 2021, the franchise is currently enjoying a wave of popularity. The Quintessential Quintuplets sequel movie will debut in 2022.
