There’s an electric mouse reunion going on right now. A Pokemon Sword and Shield Pikachu Max Raid event is in effect. Until August 9, 2020, people will have a chance to catch all the members of the Pikachu family line in the Nintendo Switch games. That includes ones visiting from the Alola region.

The update confirmed four of the characters who will be showing up with increased frequency in the Wild Area’s dens. You might end up seeing a Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, or Alolan Raichu hanging around. In addition, the update noted that shiny Pikachus will be appearing as Max Raid bosses during this event. Nothing was mentioned about any possible Gigantamax Pikachu appearances. (There was a Max Raid event involving it back in May 2020.)

In other Pokemon Sword and Shield news, we are on the very of the last Pokemon Twilight Wings episode’s debut. It will air on August 6, 2020 in Japan. The sixth episode teased that this final installment could end up focusing on Leon and Sonia, while also providing resolution for the storyline involving the original character introduced in the first episode.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available for the Nintendo Switch. The Pokemon Sword and Shield Pikachu raid event will continue until 4:59pm PT on August 9, 2020/1:59am CET on August 10, 2020.
